April is recognized as Autism Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness and understanding of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and to promote acceptance and inclusion for individuals with autism.
Cloke is proud to support this cause and invite you to take part in Hoods Up Wednesday, 26th April.
Why Hoods up? Many people with autism often have heightened sensitivity to sensory input, such as light and sound. Wearing a hoodie with the hood up can provide relief by blocking out uncomfortable brightness or loud noises.
Additionally, hoodies are typically made of softer fabrics, which is beneficial for those with tactile or texture sensitivities. Wearing your hood up for Autism NZ helps raise awareness that hoods aren't always aggressive or scary - they can also be tools to help autistic people exist more comfortably in a world that isn't designed for them.
Wear a hoodie on the 26th April, take a picture and tag #AutismNZHoodsUp. Cloke will also be donating $1 for every Explorer Hoodie sold in April, 2023.
